A bold awareness campaign challenging the use of shark nets on Australia’s east coast. Protect the Protectors reframes marine animals as guardians of the ocean, using provocative messaging and a striking visual identity to turn a complex environmental issue into something urgent, personal and difficult to ignore.

PROTECTION SHOULDN’T KILL.
PROTECTION SHOULDN’T KILL.
The campaign was built around a simple idea: marine animals play an important role in protecting the ocean, so protecting them ultimately means protecting ourselves. A stark black-and-white visual language and large-scale typography give the animals a voice, confronting the audience with messages designed to challenge perceptions around shark nets.
Developed as a conceptual campaign in partnership with Patagonia, the identity extends across social media, outdoor billboards, a campaign website, merchandise and motion. Together, the touchpoints create a cohesive system designed to raise awareness, start conversations and encourage people to rethink the impact of shark nets on marine life.
